IL Statute 55 ILCS 5/5-12001.1
Did you know...
If your Illinois county has less than 180,000 people and municipality is not greater than 25,000 people, your County/City government has no "Due Process" on Telecommunication Facility (cell tower) placement.
This means 91 of our 102 counties have no say in location. Building permits are automatically granted.
Local Zoning rules have no power. These towers can be placed in a residental area or near a cemetary, school, church, or State Park.
Help us change this law. A tax payer in one part of Illinois should not be granted more civic rights than another based upon their population.
This law is a clear example of State of Illinois government putting corporations before communities.
